Nicole Richie No Rules.

Nicole Richie No Rules.

I enjoyed Nicole Richie’s first offering into the perfume world simply called “Nicole” so much that I didn’t hesitate purchasing her second. The price I paid was very low so frankly, I wasn’t out that much. (Thanks to TJMaxx, a local discounter in the USA).

No Rules smells delicious too, the flacon is pretty, altho not as pretty as the first, it’s actually quite a simple bottle and strikingly similar to the first with the identical bottle cap. The box, I dare say, is prettier than the bottle. However, the juice inside just doesn’t last long at all. Maybe two hours and that’s a stretch using body lotion to make sure your skin is well nourished. It’s a great perfume to take to sleep and scent your linens.

This is a sweet, candied, sunny perfume. Orange blossom and kumquat top it off with a sparkling, effervescent beginning. Frangipani brings in a flowery essence and its’ drydown is a skin musk with a mild vanilla.

No Rules is a fantasy-like perfume, likened to fairies and their playfulness in the woods, campfires and forests, dark colder nights when the wind stings your face and turns your cheeks red. It’s earthy and whimsical really, not a perfume to be taken seriously. It’s great for bed-time when you want to relax and scent your linens to de-stress.

This floral fruity arrived in 2014 and is available in discount stores and online.

Top Notes: Orange Blossom, Kumquat, Wild Berries, Almond Blossom.

Nicole by Nicole Ritchie…Absolutely Delicious…Why Do People Buy and Wear Those Things?

Nicole.

Nicole.

Opening notes of Nicole bring to mind the snapping open of a ripe peach, fresh from a market stand. You break it in half, the pit still in place, and inhale the juicy fruit in all its’ delicious ripeness. Nothing synthetic, pure freshness, you can almost feel the juice dripping. Add fresh-churned vanilla ice cream, the kind you get from dairy farms in the country. Vanilla ice cream that has a fresh flavor and aroma to it unlike no other because it was just churned today with fresh milk from dairy cows. Now add the sweet patchouli. And this is a sweet, mellow you can eat patchouli.
Nicole wears very lightly unless you layer it or use a moisturizing trick to get the fragrance to last longer. I use a very sheer veil of vaseline first on my skin, then spray the perfume. Any perfume I have that doesn’t have good longevity suddenly lasts for hours on me.
I really love this scent. It’s full-bodied, creamy, rich with its ambery, spicy feel. Not too fruity at all, the peach is more of a rum type or a boozy impression. Nicole is considered an oriental floral in nature and is wonderful for the cooler months.
The bottle is what drew me in, tho. It reminds me of the Eiffel Tower. It sits neatly in my hand, easy to spray and is art deco and just pretty to display. For bottle collectors, this one’s a winner.
I love wearing this now during the winter-watching the snow fall and hearing the winds blow. Its notes are warm, sensual and comforting. I do wish it lasted longer, but today’s perfumes unfortunately do not, it seems. But, taking into consideration how wonderful the opening is, and how to make it last, Nicole really is nice.
Top Notes: Blackberry, Orange.
