100 Gourmand Perfumes To Please Any Palate!

Have you ever been afraid to buy a perfume thinking it’s too young for you to spritz on? Ever been embarrassed to admit the name of the perfume you’re wearing to your friends? Are you bullied by Sales Associates in stores into purchasing only expensive perfumes because, after all, you get what you pay for? Are you frustrated about perfumes, love them, just want to wear what you enjoy, and to hell with what everyone else thinks?

You are not alone.

We are told by “experts in the field of perfumery” that only the young wear or should wear gourmands. A gourmand perfume is a perfume that “has edible or dessert-like qualities. These often contain notes like vanilla, tonka bean and coumarin, as well as synthetic components designed to resemble food flavors. A sweet example is Thierry Mugler’s Angel. A savory example would be Dinner by BoBo, which has cumin and curry hints.” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perfume

How untrue this is! Many adults and mature ladies appreciate, adore and love wearing gourmands. And why not? Delicious flavors are olfactory delights and can bring good memories back to one’s soul. They just smell good. They’re easy on the nose. They don’t fight with one’s chemistry, usually. You can be a gourmand personality at any age.

But the point is, no matter your age, you can wear whatever type of perfume you enjoy. Don’t ever feel pegged by an age bracket. Don’t let anyone tell you what you can wear as a perfume.

The following is a list of 100 gourmands that I have personally tried. All of these are easily accesible on today’s market, either through department stores, drugstores or online through regular stores or through auctions. They vary in price from low-end to high-end. After each name, I’ve given a short description of what each perfume reminded me of in the food category. The list is not in any particular order and there are many more that could have been added, but I thought 100 was a good start for anyone looking for a gourmand fragrance.

As always, sample and test first, lest you find out you won’t like it and you’ll be wasting your money. If you are unable to locate the perfume to test it, try to buy a sample online first. It’s worth the few dollars to spend on a sample then $25 or more on a full bottle of a perfume that you’ll never wear.

Here’s my list of 100 gourmands:

1. Nicole by Nicole Ritchie- rum over peaches and rich vanilla ice cream.
